Wood screws have stronger fixing ability than nails, and they can be removed and replaced without damaging the wood surface, so they are more convenient to use.
The thread on the self-tapping screw rod is a special self-tapping screw thread, which is usually used to connect two thin metal components (steel plate, saw board, etc.). As the name implies, the self-tapping screw can be tapped by itself, it has high hardness, and can be directly screwed into the hole of the component to form a corresponding internal thread in the component.
Self-tapping screws can tap internal threads on the metal body to form thread engagement and fasten. However, due to its high thread base diameter, when it is used in wood products, the cut into wood will be relatively shallow, and due to the small thread pitch, there will be less wood structure between each two threads. Therefore, it is unreliable and unsafe to use self-tapping screws for wooden mounting parts, especially looser woods.
